Bielsa takes blame for dropped points

Athletic Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa accepted responsibility for his side's leaky defence after their 3-3 draw at Espanyol on Sunday.

Bilbao had to come from 2-0 and then 3-2 down to snatch a share of the points at the Estadi Cornella El Prat.

And the coach said afterwards that he did not have a settled defensive structure in place.

"We didn't defend well," Bielsa conceded. "There were individual and collective mistakes that brought defensive mistakes.

"And I think that's because of my decisions, which I think are very important. I have not yet given to my team a solid and stable defence and it doesn't help."

Bielsa's side have so far failed to replicate their impressive form from last season, winning just one of their four La Liga games this term.
